Go and gladly eat your bread,
Drink wine with a merry heart;
God approves what you are fed,
That your lips and tongue impart.
Let your clothes be always white,
And your head oil will not lack;
Always doing what is right,
Because God watches your back.
With whom you love enjoy life,
All the days never in vain;
When you are loving your wife,
Enjoyed living will sustain.
God gave you under the sun,
A time that you must toil;
Satisfaction after done,
When you have tilled the soil.
Of what your hand finds to do,
Do it with all of your might;
Motivated to pursue,
Helps you to sleep well at night.
For there are no thoughts or wisdom,
Nor any knowledge or deed;
For entering God’s Kingdom,
That lets the devil succeed.
